According to a Baton Rouge TV station (WAFB), Braxton Miller may be a LSU Tiger next season.
If you’ve been paying any attention to The Ohio State Buckeyes football program this season, then you saw this coming, because you know the current quarterback situation in Columbus is REAL.
Before the start of the 2014 season, Braxton Miller was the guy on Ohio State’s football team. He was the quarterback, it was his team, and he was designated by coach Urban Meyer to take the Buckeyes to the promised land.
That was before he had to undergo season ending surgery. Before JT Barrett replaced him, stepped up and made a name for himself, as well as a strong case for The Heisman Trophy. Before JT Barrett himself would be injured and replaced by Cardale Jones, who led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title and currently has the Buckeyes in the driver seat to win a national title.
This is unprecedented.
When is the last time a team had not one, not two, but THREE potential Heisman winners at quarterback? Yeah, I don’t remember either.
While this is a good problem to have, it’s also like “damn. Who’s gonna be our guy?”, if you’re Urban Meyer.
1. Braxton Miller is the OG, who’d for sure still be playing had he not got hurt. We wouldn’t even know who JT Barrett was, just yet, had #5 been healthy.
2. Because Braxton was declared out for the season, we were able to be introduced to JT Barrett and the kid proved to be a beast, who could’ve and likely will win the Heisman before he’s done at Ohio State.
3. Cardale Jones has the Buckeyes doing what neither Braxton, nor JT, nor any quarterback since Troy Smith, could do and that’s playing for a national championship.
If this report on Braxton, who has one year of eligibility left, due to being granted a medical redshirt, is true, you can scratch number 1, from the list above.
If Braxton goes to LSU, or anywhere, other than Ohio State, I won’t be mad and I hope he does well, unless he happens to face us.
You knew someone was gonna leave. It was just a matter of who; because none of these guys want, or even deserves to be a backup. I’ll keep you posted on this story, and it’s validity.
